§ 60. Mr. O'GRADYasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that advertisements for previous War Loans were given to a London daily paper, namely, the "Morning Advertiser," and that, in the matter of the present issue of Exchequer Bonds, this London daily paper has been deprived of the opportunity of publishing such advertisements; whether he can state the reasons for withholding or withdrawing the placing of such advertisements from the daily paper named; and whether steps will be taken to treat the "Morning Advertiser" in the same manner as the other London daily newspapers?
§ Mr. McKENNAAs in the case of the last War Loan, the advertisements in question have been prepared and placed by a distinguished advertising expert, who has been so good as to place his services at my disposal for the purpose. I understand that the number of newspapers to which the advertisements are now being distributed is shortly to be increased.
