HC Deb 23 December 1915 vol 77 c591
4. Colonel YATE

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can give any information as to the safety of the British residents at Yezd and Kerman, in Persia?

Lord R. CECIL

The British Consul and colony at Kerman left under escort for Bunder Abbas on the morning of the 18th instant. As regards Yezd, it has been difficult, in view of the interruption of telegraphic communication, to obtain reliable information, but, according to the latest reports received, I understand that the Acting-Governor has been able to maintain order, and that the British Consul and colony have so far been able to remain in the town.
