HC Deb 23 December 1915 vol 77 c603
63. Mr. H. EDWARDS

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether it is proposed to give troops who have been in training for several months in various parts of the country facilities for spending some portion of the Christmas holidays with their relatives at their homes?

Mr. TENNANT

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave on this subject to the hon. and learned Member for York on the 14th of this month.

Mr. EDWARDS

Is it possible to know what the right hon. Gentleman said then?

Mr. TENNANT

What I said was that arrangements are being made by which these very men are being allowed leave, if possible, having regard to the exigencies of Home defence.
