HC Deb 23 December 1915 vol 77 c610
81. Sir E. CORNWALL

asked the Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been drawn to an official Turkish statement that after successful fighting they were advancing on Aden; and whether he is in a position to give the House any information as to the military situation in those parts?

Mr. C. ROBERTS

I have not seen the statement to which the hon. Member refers. There has been no material change in the position at Aden during the last two months. On the 20th instant there was a skirmish between our Cavalry scouts and an enemy patrol, in which the latter lost nine killed and one prisoner, our casualties being one man wounded.
