HC Deb 27 April 1915 vol 71 c546
10. Mr. KING

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether a commanding officer of a Territorial unit has, in addition to his other powers of punishment under Section 46 of the Army Act, the power of awarding dismissal; whether there, is in force any enactment or rule which prevents the exercise of the power of dismissal at the present time by Territorial commanding officers; and, if such prohibition is now operative, what enactment, order, or regulation it is that contains this prohibition?

Mr. TENNANT

There is a power of awarding dismissal, but I am not aware that this has been restricted by any order or regulation.

Mr. KING

The power to order dismissal still continues?

Mr. TENNANT

That is so.
