HC Deb 27 April 1915 vol 71 c546
11. Mr. KING

asked whether the Government will take adequate steps to secure that soldiers invalided home shall as soon as they have been passed ready for duty or light duty, after being in a hospital or convalescent home, have at least one week's furlough at their home before being sent to the front again?

Mr. TENNANT

Furlough to invalided soldiers is a question which depends on the exigencies of the Service, and concerning which no definite promise can be given. Large numbers of men, however, have been granted furlough to their homes, especially in cases of recovery from serious ailments or wounds.
