HC Deb 27 April 1915 vol 71 cc559-60
46. Mr. JAMES HOPE

asked the Prime Minister whether he is now in a position to announce the methods adopted by the Government to carry out the policy already declared of causing the profits earned by firms executing war contracts to be shared proportionately by their workmen?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. J. M. Robertson)

The Prime Minister has asked me to answer this question. I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to him on Tuesday last, the 20th April.

Mr. J. HOPE

May I ask if anything will be said on this matter by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in his financial statement next week as well as on the limitation of profits?

Mr. ROBERTSON

I am quite unable to answer that.
