HC Deb 22 April 1915 vol 71 cc394-5
36. Mr. HOGGE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state how many men he has now appointed under his new scheme; whether each is head of a separate department; and whether he proposes to co-ordinate them under one supreme head?

42. Mr. GEORGE TERRELL

asked whether it is proposed to add to the Committee to accelerate production of munitions of war any persons representative of manufacturers or employers of labour; if he can state exactly what powers the Committee will possess in connection with the taking over or the supervision of factories engaged on Government work; and whether the Committee will have power to deal with any labour difficulties which may arise?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

I can add nothing to my statement of yesterday.

Mr. HOGGE

Does my right hon. Friend remember asking me yesterday to wait until he had made his speech?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

Yes.

Mr. HOGGE

And that I waited, but did not hear the name of the man of "push and go"?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

Yes, he was referred to.

Mr. HOGGE

Who was he? May I ask my right hon. Friend if the Leader of the Opposition was right in saying that the Chancellor of the Exchequer is the man of "push and go"?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

indicated dissent.
