HC Deb 22 April 1915 vol 71 c395
39. Mr. GOLDSTONE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the Commissioners of Inland Revenue are proposing to extend the hours of duty for their staff without the customary payment for overtime thus performed; and, if so, on what grounds and by whose authority the practice in this Department is to differ from that in other Departments?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

I am not aware of any action or proposal by the Commissioners of Inland Revenue which is inconsistent with the rules for the conduct of business in the public service.
