HC Deb 21 April 1915 vol 71 cc266-7
35. Mr. GINNELL

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what independent medical approval, if any, the Irish Insurance Commissioners have for the treatment of the sick which their different system of certification involves; and to what cause, except inability to get such approval, their failure is due in a matter of which both the sick and the medical profession complain?

Mr. ACLAND

My right hon. Friend has asked me to reply to this question. He fears that he is unable to add anything to the full replies already given on this subject; but he may say that the question of revising the present arrangements is under consideration, and he will be happy to inform the hon. Member of the progress of the negotiations.

Mr. GINNELL

Is it not a fact that the Irish Insurance Commissioners have no medical approval whatever of their present practice?

Mr. ACLAND

I do not know.

Mr. GINNELL

Well, I know.
