HC Deb 21 April 1915 vol 71 c257
31. Mr. DUNCAN MILLAR

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he can state what arrangements have been made with the Scottish railway companies to facilitate the transport of coal and other commodities, and to what extent the proposal to pool railway wagons has been carried into effect in Scotland?

Mr. ROBERTSON

I am informed that probably not less than nine-tenths of the traffic on the Scottish railways is receiving an ordinary service. The arrangements with regard to common use of railway companies' wagons are the same in Scotland as in this country, and my right hon. Friend explained them in his reply to a question asked by my hon. Friend on the 17th February.
