I beg to ask the hon. Member for the Saffron Walden Division, as representing the Office of Works, whether there has been any further modification of the Meyer timber buying contract; what is the value of the purchases of timber made to date by Mr. Meyer or his firm for account of the Government; and what is the amount of commission earned by Mr. Meyer or his firm to date and due on uncompleted contracts or deliveries?

The answer to the first question is in the negative. The answer to the second is, approximately, £700,000. The answer to the third is, approximately, £16,000, of which £8,000 has been paid up to date.
