§ Mr. TENNANTThe only intoxicant, of which the sale is permitted in canteens at home, is beer; and it is not the present intention to prohibit its sale. The only beverage sold in the base canteen, which might come under the category of intoxicants, is the light French beer, and I am advised that the intoxicating power of this is very slight.
