HC Deb 27 November 1914 vol 68 cc1492-3
21. Mr. WATT

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he can state who is to be appointed Custodian for Scotland under the Trading with the Enemy Act (1914) Amendment Bill now before the House; and will he see that a new officer in Scotland is not appointed, but that someone already holding office but not overworked is placed in position?

Mr. ROBERTSON

As the appointment of Custodian for Scotland under the Trading with the Enemy Amendment Bill rests with the Board of Trade, I have been asked by my right hon. Friend, the Secretary for Scotland, to answer this question. I am not at present in a position to state who will be appointed Custodian for Scotland, but the considerations referred to in my hon. Friend's question shall be borne in mind.
