HC Deb 19 November 1914 vol 68 cc551-2
39. Mr. TYSON WILSON

asked the Under-Secretary for War whether he has received any request from local recruiting committees for the services of a military band for the purpose of stimulating recruiting; and, if so, whether he proposes to comply with such request?

Mr. TENNANT

Local recruiting committees are expected to work in close communication with the local recruiting officers, through whom they would naturally submit any requests of the nature mentioned to the local commander. The latter officer, if in a position to comply with such requests, would no doubt do so.
