HC Deb 18 November 1914 vol 68 c428
61. Mr. DICKINSON

asked the Under-Secretary for War whether a large number of the wives and children of aliens who are now being interned are left in a state of destitution, and that many of the wives are of British birth and the children are of British nationality; and whether His Majesty's Government will take measures to relieve these persons in their distress?

Mr. TENNANT

Funds have been placed at the disposal of the Local Government Board by the Treasury for the relief of these cases. The distribution will be through the agency of the boards of guardians.
