HC Deb 18 November 1914 vol 68 c431
13. Mr. KING

asked the hon. Member for Dumfries, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he can state the plan and progress of the work now being carried out on the Terrace of this House, adjacent to the Strangers' Smoking Room?

Mr. GULLAND (Lord of the Treasury)

The work in question is all in connection with the new tea room. The design has already been exhibited in the present tea room. The work is progressing satisfactorily, and it is hoped that it will be completed early next year.

Colonel LOCKWOOD

May I ask whether the plan has been finally approved of and settled?

Mr. GULLAND

I understand that it was in the tea room for a long time for inspection.

Mr. KING

Is the hon. Member aware that there is intolerable dust in the Library, and, if so, can he get something done to remedy this?

Mr. EUGENE WASON

May I ask the hon. Member whether any steps have been taken to provide a room for the chairman of the Scottish unofficial Members, and also whether he knows what has become of the papers which were left in the room formerly used by him?

Mr. GULLAND

I will do what I can for the right hon. Gentleman now that he has returned home safely.
