HC Deb 18 November 1914 vol 68 cc430-1
11. Mr. JOWETT

asked whether the Government is considering the question of credit banks to help small growers in this time of stress, with a view to keeping them from sacrificing valuable crops in order to meet their obligations of rent, etc.?

Sir H. VERNEY

I am afraid that the present is not a favourable time for the establishment of agricultural credit banks on any considerable scale.
