HC Deb 17 November 1914 vol 68 cc312-3
13. Mr. LEACH

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether the replies received from farmers of the quantity of produce they can sell to His Majesty's Forces at fair prices are satisfactory; and, if not, what arrangements are being made to secure adequate supplies?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of AGRICULTURE (Sir Harry Verney)

It is too early to express a definite opinion on the arrangements made by the Board through county committees for the purchase of agricultural produce for the Army direct from farmers, but there is every reason to believe that adequate supplies will be secured at satisfactory prices.
