HC Deb 17 November 1914 vol 68 c332
11. Mr. HOGGE

asked the Secretary for Scotland when the Commission appointed to investigate housing conditions in Scotland is likely to report?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

I have made inquiry and am informed that the hearing of the evidence is nearly complete, but that in consequence of the demands connected with the War on the time of most of the Commissioners, it is not possible at present to say when the Commission is likely to report.

Mr. HOGGE

Seeing that the Grants made by the Local Government Board depend upon the conditions of housing, will the right hon. Gentleman expedite the findings of the Commission?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

I have no control over the procedure of a Royal Commission.
