HC Deb 17 November 1914 vol 68 c323
41. Mr. TICKLER

asked how many Army pensioners are there at present in Government employ who have been requested to rejoin the Colours as drill instructors and have not responded to the call although medically fit; and whether any steps will be taken to relieve them of their situations after the War and fill the same by those who have gone to help to train men to defend our country?

Mr. TENNANT

I cannot say how many pensioners there are who are medically fit and who have not offered for service. I do not think it would be practicable to order a compulsory medical examination of all Army pensioners in Government employ.
