HC Deb 17 November 1914 vol 68 c322
39. Mr. RENDALL

asked whether some 300 supernumerary officers accompanied the Canadian contingent and have since their arrival in the Home country had no regular duties to perform and in many cases no duties at all; whether those officers have all trained in their Territorial regiments; and, if so, why no use whatever has been made of them since their arrival?

Mr. TENNANT

There are a certain number of supernumerary officers in the Canadian contingent who will be utilised to replace casualties. I am not aware that no use has been made of their services since their arrival.
