HC Deb 12 May 1914 vol 62 c905
29. Mr. F. HALL (Dulwich)

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if duty is levied by any foreign country on capital invested in the United Kingdom, and if, with a view to facilitating the collection of the Income Tax now proposed to be charged on foreign dividends, he will consider the practicability of obtaining from foreign Powers particulars of English investors in companies registered abroad?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

The answer to the first part of the hon. Member's question is in the affirmative. I have noted the suggestion contained in the second part.
