HC Deb 11 May 1914 vol 62 c725
76. Colonel BURN

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will take the necessary steps to have a fog signal established at Berry Head owing to the present danger to shipping in thick weather?

Mr. ROBERTSON

The establishment of such a work is a matter for the consideration of the General Lighthouse Authority, and I am informed by the Trinity House that they do not consider a fog signal necessary on Berry Head for purposes of general navigation.

Colonel BURN

Does the hon. Gentleman know that many complaints have been recently made that these fogs come very rapidly and that there is very considerable danger to shipping?

Mr. ROBERTSON

I have said that the matter is one for the consideration of the Trinity House.
