HC Deb 07 May 1914 vol 62 cc429-30
22. Mr. LYELL

asked the hon. Member for St. George's-in-the-East, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether his attention has been called to the inartistic and incongruous character of the present methods of lighting Westminster Hall; and whether the Office of Works is prepared to consider the question of new designs of lighting which might be installed in connection with the repairs now about to be undertaken?

Mr. WEDGWOOD BENN (Lord of the Treasury)

The question of improving the lighting in Westminster Hall can only be considered when the work for the preservation of the roof has been completed.
