HC Deb 07 May 1914 vol 62 cc434-5
50. Mr. JAMES HOGGE

asked the Prime Minister whether he can now say when the Scottish Estimates will be taken; and how many days he proposes to give for their discussion?

The PRIME MINISTER

I cannot yet make a statement, but adequate time will be given for discussion.

Mr. WATT

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that Scottish Estimates were discussed on August Bank Holiday last year and will he see that this is not repeated this year?

Mr. MACPHERSON

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that two days were allowed last year and that Scottish business is much more important this year?

The PRIME MINISTER

No one is more alive than I am to the importance of Scottish business.

Mr. KING

If Scotchmen got more than their due last year, is that any reason why they should get more than their due this year?

The PRIME MINISTER

I cannot admit that Scottish Members get more than their due.

Major ANSTRUTHER-GRAY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that Scottish business got a great deal too little attention last year?
