HC Deb 04 May 1914 vol 62 c14
9. Major ANSTRUTHER-GRAY

asked the Postmaster-General whether he can now give any indication as to when the Report of the Interdepartmental Commission on Herring Trawling and other fishery matters, which has been so long-delayed, will be promulgated?

The ASSISTANT POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Captain Norton)

Special and extensive investigations have been made by the Departments concerned in fishery matters, the results of which are now, I understand, being tabulated by the Board of Agriculture and by the Fishery Board for Scotland. It is therefore impossible at present to fix a date for the promulgation of the Report of the Interdepartmental Committee on Fisheries. I regret the delay that has occurred in issuing a Report, but I have myself been waiting for this information, which is very complicated, as well as important?
