HC Deb 21 July 1914 vol 65 cc264-5
77. Mr. F. HALL (Dulwich)

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland if his attention has been called to the proposal to be considered by the Kingstown Urban Council to submit a Bill to the Irish Parliament to be established under the Government of Ireland Bill to authorise, among other things, the erection of a public hall with power to lease the same to the National Volunters as a club, drill hall, and armoury; and if it woud be competent for the Irish Parliament to sanction such a scheme?

Mr. BIRRELL

I have seen a newspaper report of a notice of motion by a member of the Kingstown Urban District Council for the introduction of an omnibus Bill conferring some such powers as are referred to in the first part of the question As to the latter part of the question, would refer the hon. Member to paragraph 3 of Clause 2 of the Government of Ireland Bill.
