HC Deb 19 February 1914 vol 58 c1119
41. Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

asked whether the right hon. Gentleman's attention has been drawn to the desire of the naval warrant writers and writers of the Royal Navy to have extended to them the privilege of advancement to commissioned and commissioned warrant rank; whether he can see his way to grant this concession; whether he will consider the possibility of an increase in the number of warrant officers in this branch; and if a Committee is sitting to inquire into these matters will he say when it is expected that the Committee will report, and should the Committee have already reported, will he say when effect will be given to their recommendations?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Churchill)

The points raised in the question of the hon. Member are engaging the attention of a Committee sitting at the Admiralty to inquire into certain questions affecting officers of the accountant branch of the Royal Navy. It is understood that the report of the Committee may be expected next month.
