§ "To incorporate and confer powers upon a Joint Committee of the Metropolitan and 297 Great Northern Railway Companies; to provide for the leasing to such Committee of the Great Northern and City Railway undertaking of the Metropolitan Railway Company and the transfer to such Committee of the powers in respect of a railway authorised to be constructed by that Company; to empower the Joint Committee and the Great Northern Railway Company to construct new railways and works; to empower the Metropolitan Railway Company to construct a new railway and works and to acquire additional lands; and for other purposes."
