HC Deb 03 August 1914 vol 65 c1792
49. Mr. LESLIE SCOTT

had the following question on the Notice Paper: To ask the Prime Minister whether His Majesty's Government have arrived at any conclusion in their deliberations upon the question of a State system of insurance of British shipping against war risks in the event of this country being at war; and, if so, whether he is in a position to indicate the general nature of the scheme adopted?

Question No. 44 having been called and postponed,

Mr. SPEAKER

It seems to be the desire of the House that all the questions on the Paper should be postponed.

Mr. LESLIE SCOTT

I would desire, if possible, an answer to Question No. 49. It was put down after conversation with the right hon. Gentleman the Prime Minister?

The CHANCELLOR of the EXCHEQUER (Mr. Lloyd George)

May I state that I propose to make a full statement on the subject later on in the course of the evening.

Mr. LESLIE SCOTT

I will postpone the question for the present.
