36. Mr. F. HALL (Dulwich)

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when Mr. C. B. L. Tennyson, legal assistant to the Colonial Office, was appointed to that post, and what position was occupied by him before his appointment?

Mr. HARCOURT

Mr. Tennyson was appointed legal assistant in the Colonial Office on 1st November, 1911. He had previously been practising at the Bar, and had been for a time junior equity counsel to the Office of Works.
