§ 4. Sir J. D. REESasked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether the Secretary of State has further information as to fighting in Kalimpong; and, if so, what is the cause of the outbreak of hostilities between the Tibetans and the Chinese?
§ Mr. ACLANDNo fighting has taken place at Kalimpong which is in British India. As regards reported fighting between Tibetans and Chinese in East Tibet, to which the hon. Member presumably refers, I have nothing to add to my reply to the question of the hon. Member for Central Bradford on the 2nd instant.
§ Sir J. D. REESWill the hon. Gentleman reply to the second portion of my question?
§ Mr. ACLANDThe reply was that he bad knowledge that certain skirmishes had taken place, but he had no knowledge as to the cause.
