HC Deb 14 April 1914 vol 61 cc4-5
3. Mr. DENNISS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether steps have been taken to safeguard British property at Tabriz, having regard to the want of popularity of the Medjliss shown by the tearing to pieces by the populace of the proclamation convoking that assembly; whether any agreement has been come to between His Majesty's Government and Russia with regard to their respective zones of influence; and whether he will lay upon the Table of this House all Papers relating to any negotiations that have taken place between the two countries?

Mr. ACLAND

There is, so far as I am aware, no ground whatever for fearing danger to British property at Tabriz. The answer to the second part of the question is in the negative, as is consequently also that to the third part.
