§ 29. Mr. BOWERMANasked the Home Secretary if representations have been received from local authorities regarding the annoyance and damage caused to pedestrians through mud splashing by motor omnibuses; if he is aware that an inexpensive and proved wheel-attachment to prevent this has been pa-tented and publicly tested, to the entire satisfaction of the police authorities; and whether, in view of the refusal of the omnibus companies to adapt such remedy, he will take steps to compel them to put a stop to the nuisance complained of?
§ Mr. McKENNARepresentations have been received from local authorities, and numerous experiments have been made; but I regret to say that the Commissioner of Police reports that no satisfactory preventive device has yet been found. Perhaps my hon. Friend will be good enough to send me particulars of the invention to which he refers.
