HC Deb 29 May 1913 vol 53 cc327-8
69. Mr. C. BATHURST

asked whether negotiations have taken place between the Corporation of the City of London and the Government, with a view to reviving the usefulness of Deptford market and at the same time safeguarding the food supply of the country in time of war by developing a greater trade in Colonial as distinct from foreign supplies of cattle intended for immediate slaughter; and, if so, what is the result of such negotiations?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I fear that I have nothing to report on this subject at present.
