HC Deb 24 June 1913 vol 54 c963
35. Mr. O'GRADY

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether he, or somebody on his behalf, recently received a deputation in connection with the worn-out horse traffic to the Continent; and, if so, what action has been taken in respect to the representations then made by the deputation?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of AGRICULTURE (Mr. Runciman)

Sir Sydney Olivier, the Permanent Secretary of the Board, received a deputation recently on the subject of the export of horses to the Continent. Every case in which it was represented that the Board's inspectors had been negligent in the performance of their duties has been investigated. The complaints have proved to be without foundation, except on some minor points.
