HC Deb 23 June 1913 vol 54 cc770-1
7. Colonel LOCKWOOD

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture if he will explain why Mr. Powell, of Weald Hall, Essex, who asked for the assistance of the Board on the 28th April, was not visited until the 30th of May?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of AGRICULTURE (Mr. Runciman)

I fear that I can add nothing to the very full answer which I gave on the 9th June.

Colonel LOCKWOOD

Where such an enormous loss of animal life has occurred surely some immediate action on the part of the Board might be looked for by the farmers in the district?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

The Board took action as early as it was competent for them to do so, as I explained on the 9th of June.
