HC Deb 23 June 1913 vol 54 cc798-9
77. Mr. PATRICK MEEHAN

asked how many of the evicted tenants who were evicted from holdings on the Lansdowne estate, Luggacurren, Queen's County, have not been reinstated in their own or equivalent holdings; and whether the Estates Commissioners will make speedy provision for the reinstatement of those evicted tenants?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners received seventy-four applications for reinstatement from persons who stated they formerly occupied holdings on the Lansdowne estate, Queen's County. Forty-six applicants have been reinstated in their former or provided with other holdings. In twenty-seven cases the Commissioners, after inquiry and consideration, decided to take no action, and they hope to be in a position at an early date to consider the remaining application in connection with untenanted land acquired by them.
