HC Deb 19 June 1913 vol 54 c535
55. Sir J. D. REES

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether the Government of India contemplates the construction of a railway from Burma to India; and, if so, what stage the project has reached, and what route it is proposed to adopt?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for INDIA (Mr. Montagu)

Surveys of three different main routes for a railway to connect India and Burma were made some years ago. No decision has been come to as to the route to be adopted in the event of the railway being sanctioned.
