HC Deb 17 June 1913 vol 54 c199
48. Mr. JAMES HOGGE

asked whether the Local Government Board have distributed any of the money Grant towards the capital expenditure on sanatoria to any county council in Scotland under Section 64 of the National Insurance Act; and, if so, how much and to which councils?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

No portion of the capital Grant has yet been distributed. Before distributing any portion of the Grant the Board require that a complete scheme for dealing with tuberculosis should be submitted to them. For various reasons no council, either of a county or of one of the larger burghs, has yet been able to submit a complete scheme, but the councils are actively engaged on the preparatory work, and are in consultation with the Board. The Board are urging them to expedite the work so that schemes may be submitted for final approval as soon as possible.
