HC Deb 17 June 1913 vol 54 c194
24. Mr. KING

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware of the growing number of so-called picture palaces or cinema shows, and that such places of entertainment now exist in all towns and many villages; and whether, with a view to affording local authorities a new source of revenue, he will introduce legislation whereby picture palaces and cinema shows may be subject to a special taxation by the rating authorities?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

My hon. Friend's suggestion will be borne in mind.
