HC Deb 10 June 1913 vol 53 c1437
81. Mr. JOHN WARD

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been called to the action of Messrs. Pethick, Dix, and Company, contractors for the sewerage works at Matlock, who, since the National Insurance Act, have deducted 2½d. per week from the wages of their workmen and called it for tools; and whether, in view of the Truck Acts, he will say what action, if any, he proposes to take in the matter?

Mr. ROBERTSON

I am making inquiries into the matter, and will inform my hon. Friend of the result in due course.
