HC Deb 10 June 1913 vol 53 c1416
21. Lord NINIAN CRICHTON-STUART

asked whether the National Insurance Act Amendment Bill will contain any proposals for death benefits?

Mr. MASTERMAN

The answer is in the negative.

22. Lord NINIAN CRICHTON-STUART

asked whether it is proposed to introduce into the Amending Bill to the National Insurance Act any provision for an increase in the allowance for administration expenses, seeing that there is discontent amongst industrial insurance agents at being compelled to work the Act and distribute the benefits for a mere nominal allowance by the management committees of the approved societies formed by their respective assurance companies and collecting societies?

Mr. MASTERMAN

The emuneration[...] paid to agents for such work as they do for the National Insurance Act in addition to their normal work is a matter between themselves and the societies employing them. With regard to the amounts allowed for administration expenses I would refer the Noble Lord to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Salisbury yesterday.

49. Mr. WEIGALL

asked the Prime Minister when the National Insurance Amendment Bill will be introduced?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Asquith)

As I stated yesterday, we hope to introduce this Bill in a few days.
