HC Deb 05 June 1913 vol 53 c1028
29. Mr. BARNES

asked the Postmaster-General if there exists any specific recommendation of any authoritative body which in any respects limits his discretion in regard to the wages of adults temporarily employed by the Post Office; if there is no such recommendation, will he explain why he should wait for one from the Committee now sitting; and, seeing that 20s. per week is an inadequate wage, will he take steps to have it at once raised?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

I will give this matter further consideration, and communicate with the hon. Member in a few days.
