HC Deb 29 July 1913 vol 56 c275
53. Mr. F. HALL

asked what amount, if any, has been paid to hospitals or other similar institutions under Section 21 of the National Insurance Act in respect of services rendered by them in connection with the working of the Act?

Mr. BENN

The information asked for by the hon. Member could not be given at present without a special return from over 20,000 societies and branches and over 200 insurance committees. Subscriptions to hospitals and similar institutions under Section 21 of the National Insurance Act are made not by the Insurance Commissioners, but by societies and insurance committees.

Mr. F. HALL

May I ask the hon. Gentleman whether any substantial sum has been given to the hospitals by the insurance committees or any other authorities?

Mr. BENN

I am not in a position to answer that question.
