HC Deb 17 July 1913 vol 55 cc1427-8
70. Mr. BRADY

asked the Secretary to the Treasury whether his attention has been drawn to the delay which sometimes takes place in the return by the Inland Revenue authorities in Dublin of deeds and other instruments lodged for duty assessment with that Department; and whether he will take steps to ensure that this work is done with greater dispatch?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Masterman)

I am not aware that there has been any unusual or avoidable delay of the nature indicated by the hon. Member, but if he will refer me to any particular cases I will inquire into them.

Mr. BRADY

May I furnish the right hon. Gentleman with particulars of a case in which after fourteen days the documents have not been returned?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I shall be glad to hear of any cases.
