114. MARQUESS of TULLIBARDINEasked the Secretary of State for War if he will say how many of the fifty additional horses promised to Cavalry regiments have actually been supplied?
§ Colonel SEELYThe increase of troop horses recommended by the War Office Committee was forty. Twenty were issued in 1912–13 and twenty more are in remount farms awaiting issue in October. In addition, the establishment of boarded-out horses has been increased by ten per regiment, and young horses to replace these are made available for issue in October from special provision for this purpose in the Estimates.
MARQUESS of TULLIBARDINEAre we to understand from that answer that the full complement of horses will be issued with the regiments in October?
§ Colonel SEELYI have given a very full answer, which will show that great advances are made to meet the necessary requirements.
§ Colonel SEELYPerhaps the Noble Lord would put that down.
