HC Deb 23 January 1913 vol 47 c617
66. Mr. ARNOLD WARD

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he can state how many convictions have taken place for offences committed in connection with the militant suffragist agitation in each year since the year 1906?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. McKenna)

Such convictions are not necessarily reported to the Home Office, and I have no complete information with regard to them. I can, however, obtain approximately accurate figures of the numbers committed to prison if the hon. Member will repeat his question in that shape.
