HC Deb 23 January 1913 vol 47 c617
64. Mr. BARNES

asked the Secretary for Scotland if his attention has been directed to the fact of a patient at the Smithston Lunatic Asylum having been scalded to death through neglect; if he is satisfied that proper care is taken in such institutions for the safety of patients; and if he will institute an inquiry?

The SECRETARY for SCOTLAND (Mr. McKinnon Wood)

The case referred to is receiving attention. An inquiry has already been instituted, and I am awaiting the report.
